Celebrating Gratitude for Our Team, Our Mission, and Key Events this November

November 14, 2023

This month, in addition to our tireless efforts to support our year-round mission, we’re taking time to reflect on and share awareness about four significant events: Job Action Day, Transgender Awareness Week, Transgender Day of Remembrance, and #ThxBirthControl Day.

Job Action Day (November 6)

Job Action Day serves as a reminder of the importance of continuous career development and strategic action in achieving one’s professional goals. It’s a day to appreciate the opportunities you have as a professional and remember that it’s always possible to explore a new career opportunity. If you agree, there’s no better time to consider careers with Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest, where our mission is creating a world with fundamental human rights and health care access for all.

Transgender Awareness Week (November 13-19) and Transgender Day of Remembrance (November 20)

Transgender Awareness Week is a time to lift up the voices and experiences of transgender, nonbinary, gender-nonconforming, and gender-expansive people and raise awareness of issues that impact these communities. Transgender Awareness Week leads up to the Transgender Day of Remembrance, which honors the memory of those who lost their lives to transphobic violence.

We’re proud to stand with transgender, nonbinary, gender-nonconforming, and gender-expansive communities. Whether you’re trying to learn the basics about gender identity, are seeking information about transitioning and gender-affirming health care, want to support your trans and nonbinary friends, family, and kids, or are a young person looking for information or resources — Planned Parenthood is here for you.

#ThxBirthControl Day (November 15)

On #ThxBirthControl Day, we celebrate the vital role that birth control plays in empowering individuals to make decisions about their reproductive health and family planning. Contraception provides choices – from IUDs, pills, and other options compatible with individual needs and lifestyles. It allows planning if and when to have children.  By saying #ThxBirthControl, we hope to remove the controversy and acknowledge how much contraception makes it possible for everyone.

We are thankful for our exceptional team, our life-changing mission, the strength of our community, and our vision for a brighter future.
